Ever imagined yourself on an international stage?
Ever wanted to improve your dancing while having fun?

2010 was a really exciting season for ¡SALSA CALIENTE! We traveled to the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress in July where we taught & performed. We are now on our way to the New York Salsa Congress this September for the 9th consecutive year. In the past we have also toured to Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, the Bahamas, and Italy.

This class will include footwork, partnerwork, social dancing, stage presence, choreography and a practice audition to get you ready for the auditions on November 24th.

Everyone that auditions will be offered a place on one of the following teams:
YOUTH TEAM- Ages 18 & under. Let us introduce you to the essentials of salsa dancing & learn about the musicians and dancers that made salsa what it is today. When you are ready, we will learn a choreography to be performed at local festivals and special events. Commitment is one hour per week.
LOCAL TEAM- If you have never performed before or have a limited amount of time you are able to commit to, this is the team for you. Learn exciting choreographies to perform at local events with no pressure to perform until you feel ready. Commitment is one hour per week.
TRAINING TEAM- Auditioned performance group with rehearsals twice a week plus additional class and social requirements. This is the team for you if you have never performed before but are a strong Salsa dancer or if you are new to Salsa, but have a strong dance or performance background. Team may be offered the chance to travel.
LADIES TEAM- Auditioned performance group with rehearsals twice a week plus additional class and social requirements. This team takes only the top girls and may be offered the chance to travel. In the past, the group has performed in Puerto Rico, New York, Atlanta & Chicago.
TOURING TEAM- Auditioned performance group with rehearsals twice a week plus additional class and social requirements. This team takes only the 3 highest ranking girls and 3 highest ranking guys from our yearly audition plus 2 understudies. In the past, the group's dancers have performed locally as well as in Italy, Puerto Rico, New York, the Bahamas, Mexico, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Toronto. The team has also competed in the World Salsa Open Championships.

Requirements: A passion for dance, a willingness to learn & work hard, a positive attitude, the ability to work as part of a close group, a strong sense of commitment, good style, stage presence and ability to follow. No partner or dance experience required!

$10 includes written assessment of your dancing.
All dancers attending the audition will be placed on 1 of our 5 teams.
No experience or partner required.
